F#-IT FIT CONCEPT
ALL DAY COMFORT FIT
TLDR / IN A NUTSHELL
TO GET OUR F#-IT FIT CONCEPT TO ITS FULL POTENTIAL YOU NEED TO WEAR OUR RINGS FOR A FEW MINUTES.
F#-IT
YOU SHALL NOT WEAR JEWELLERY THAT IS UNCOMFORTABLE
SKRUD COMMANDMENT 6
THE PROBLEM
Your finger varies in size throughout the day, season and year. While some fingers are more swollen in the morning, others become more swollen during the day. In addition, your hands are not perfectly symmetrical. While right-handed people tend to have bigger fingers on their right hand, left-handed people tend to have bigger fingers on their left hand.
Heavy and wide rings, which most of our rings are, tend to increase the swelling. Let us put that into two pictures
YES, these are German sausages for visual reference. The first picture is your shrunken finger and the second picture is your swollen finger.
So how do we make sure our rings stay comfortable over the days, seasons and years to come, while still providing a good fit?
F#-IT FIT CONCEPT
At SKRUD our solution to this problem is our F#-IT fit concept. This fit concept works with our iconic product names and integrates these names into the inside (shank) of the rings. The lettering defines the size of the ring and provides the fit, while the space around the lettering allows the finger to expand during wear.
Let us illustrate this fit concept by comparing a traditional ring with a SKRUD ring (no sausages this time, we promise).
With traditional rings, your finger touches most (if not all) of the shank (red area) with no room to expand. While this is not a problem with thin rings, a wider ring will become uncomfortable with this shape.
At SKRUD we define our exact ring size by our model names (here in red), while there is additional recess space around the wording (here in blue). This ergonomically shaped space gives your finger the ability to stretch while wearing your SKRUD ring over the days and years to come.
We are not producing High Heels. There is no need to sacrifice comfort for style.
IS THERE A TRADE OFF IN COMFORT/FIT?
At SKRUD we believe in honest communication with our customers. So we’re not going to lie here and tell you the truth about comfort and fit: Comfort and fit are always a compromise. It is NOT possible to have perfect comfort and a perfect fit every day.
So we have chosen our battle here: The maximum comfort we can offer our consumers as they wear our rings for days and years to come. We achieve this with our F#-IT fit concept. However, the ring may feel a little loose when you first try it on. Allow 20-30 minutes for your finger to adjust to the comfortable fit. The loose feeling will disappear over the course of the day and you won’t feel uncomfortable wearing our rings for long periods of time.
Whilst this may not be the case for all fingers, as each finger is different in shape and needs, we have seen this in all of our wear test results.
The second drawback is not visible to our consumers, but we want to tell you about it: This concept adds a lot of challenges and costs to the development and production of our products.
